How to Get Skins in League of Legends

League of Legends skins can be obtained by buying them with RP in the shop, using the official loot system, claiming seasonal event or Battle Pass rewards, or receiving an eligible gift from a friend. Not every skin is available through every route; limited, legacy and Mythic content can follow different availability rules.

Main options

• Shop: Buy an available skin directly with RP. Check that you own the matching champion.
• Loot: Upgrade skin shards into permanent skins with Orange Essence, or reroll them when the client allows it.
• Events and Battle Pass: Free and paid reward tracks may include skins, shards, orbs or other loot depending on the event.
• Gifting: Eligible friends can use the official shop gifting flow; current limits appear in the client.

Account safety and spending

Never sign in with your Riot account on a third-party “free skin code” site. Before spending, confirm the champion, regional price and refund eligibility. Random loot does not guarantee the exact skin you want.
