Muting someone, disabling all chat and hiding chat text from your screen are different actions in Bigo Live. First identify whether the problem is one user, message notifications or comments on the live-stream screen.
What does each control do?
If one person's behavior is the problem, consider blocking or reporting that user. Your ability to mute people in a stream depends on your role and room options. Hiding comments from your screen does not automatically remove other people's ability to send messages.
An approach for viewers and hosts
- Identify where the problematic message appears: private messages, a group or a live stream.
- Read the options available in that user's or message's menu.
- Use only controls for your own account or a room you are authorized to manage.
- If there are threats or harassment, preserve the necessary evidence and report it to the platform.
If there is no option to disable all chat
Do not assume every stream type has the same button. Avoid following old screen locations online for a setting absent from the current menu. If you only want fewer alerts, read the notification guide; if you want a cleaner screen, use the guide to hiding chat.
