How to Play Yasuo: Lane, Wave and Teamfights

Learn Yasuo's Q setup, dash routes, Wind Wall timing and teamfight entries.

Yasuo needs an exit plan as much as fast mechanics. Plan minion dashes for both entry and retreat; a charged Q does not require an immediate all-in.

Laning

Save Wind Wall for a meaningful ranged spell. Track which minions you have dashed through, because you cannot immediately reuse them and may lose your route out. Short trades are safer when the passive shield is ready.

Teamfights

Following an allied knock-up is often safer than forcing your own tornado. Place Wind Wall across the main damage line of the enemy carry, not randomly. Before ulting, consider allied follow-up, enemy crowd control and the dash route available afterward. See our LoL guides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Yasuo's dash route matter?
He cannot immediately dash through the same target, so a bad route removes his disengage and invites a gank.
When should Yasuo ultimate?
After a knock-up his team can follow, while accounting for enemy crowd control.
