How to Play Zed: Lane, Shadows and Roams

Zed is not only about a fast combo. Good play requires knowing where each shadow stands and which return remains safe. Spending all energy on low-value poke removes both pressure and escape options.
Laning and roams
Use the shadow combo during the opponent's last-hit animation to predict movement. Do not step forward while the shadow is on cooldown. Roam after crashing the wave and checking river vision; a blind route loses farm and tempo.
Ultimate and teamfights
Plan the ultimate origin and a second shadow before engaging. Defensive items, enemy mobility and peel change the correct target. If a one-shot is impossible, separating enemies, forcing cooldowns and exiting safely still creates value. See our LoL guides.
