Roblox Avatar Backgrounds: Selling Access and Robux Requirements
Learn who can sell Roblox avatar backgrounds, the 200 Robux upload fee, the separate price floor, and Roblox Plus and ID requirements.
Roblox avatar backgrounds opened to all eligible Marketplace creators in the November 5, 2026 announcement. Uploading and publishing require both ID verification and Roblox Plus. The upload fee is 200 Robux per background; the minimum sale price is separately set at 200 Robux.
What changed for creators?
Access has expanded beyond the pilot. Eligible creators can now design the scene behind an avatar and sell it on Marketplace. At launch, uploads are limited to one background per day, with no separate publishing limit stated. Group uploads are supported.
What does the 200 Robux cover?
The upload fee pays for submitting a creator's file. The price floor is the minimum listing price. These are separate amounts: paying the upload fee does not guarantee a sale or earnings. The Plus and ID requirements concern creators' permission to upload and publish.
Preparing your background
Use a 2560 × 1440 image in sRGB, flattened RGB without transparency. JPG, PNG, TGA and BMP are accepted. In Creator Hub, go to Create → Avatar Item → Background. Content can be published after review.
Planning your Robux budget
Check your creator eligibility first. Compare Roblox Robux and gift card options when choosing credit. Check currency and redemption terms; a card's face value is not its Robux amount. The Roblox Credit and Robux guide explains the distinction. This announcement does not establish a change to Robux prices in Turkish lira.
