Fortnitemares 2026 is live, and the refreshed Nitemare Island joined Reload on October 8. The event combines Five Nights at Freddy’s animatronic bosses, Horde Rush, seasonal weapons and a large lineup of horror-themed Item Shop crossovers arriving throughout October.
What changed on October 8?
Reload added the updated Nitemare Island alongside the Stranger Things and Squid Grounds maps. In Battle Royale, Nightmare Neighborhood and Freaky Fields anchor the event. Defeating Freddy Krueger grants Freddy’s Nightmare, while the Bonerattler SMG helps reveal enemies. The Wood Stake Shotgun and Pumpkin Launcher also return.
FNAF and October crossovers
FNAF animatronics appear as bosses and can be possessed after defeat. Battle-damaged FNAF outfits are in the Item Shop. Epic also confirmed outfits and accessories inspired by A Nightmare on Elm Street, Black Clover, Hollow Knight, Hazbin Hotel, The Purge, Slender Man, Beetlejuice and more throughout October. Not every release date or V-Bucks price has been announced, so check the live shop before buying.
