How to Gift VALORANT Skins: Current Gifting Guide

You can gift skins in VALORANT through Riot's official Gifting flow. Buy an eligible Store offer marked with the Gift button and send it to an eligible friend. You cannot transfer an old skin from your Collection; the gift is a new VP purchase made at checkout.

How to send a VALORANT skin gift

Open the in-client Store.
Select an eligible Featured Store bundle or item. For a supported VCT item, use the Esports tab.
Press Gift on the offer page.
Pick an eligible recipient from your friends list.
Choose the full bundle or an eligible individual item.
Check the Riot ID, item, and VP total before confirming.

The recipient can accept or decline on login. Patch 13.00 also added gift acceptance and rejection updates to the client Inbox.

Eligibility requirements

The sender must be at least Account Level 15. Sender and recipient must have been in-game friends for at least seven days, be eligible and free of a gifting-blocking active restriction, and use the same VALORANT region and game shard. Tighter geographic rules apply in some countries, so the selectable-recipient screen is the final check.

Removing and re-adding a friend can make the friendship timer relevant again. There is no legitimate username field or secret gift-code menu that bypasses the wait.

Daily gifting limit

Gifting launched with a limit of five sends, but Patch 10.09 raised it to 10 gifts per day from May 15, 2025. If the counter has reset locally but the client still shows the cap, restart the client. Recipient-side eligibility can also keep a friend off the list.

What can be gifted?

Patch 10.08 launched gifting for selected Featured Store bundles and items. Patch 11.04 extended support to eligible VCT content in the Esports Store. Treat the Gift button on the live offer as the source of truth.

You cannot trade or transfer a skin already in your Collection.
A Daily Store or Night Market appearance does not automatically make an item giftable.
An item already owned by the recipient cannot be sent again; bundle eligibility and pricing should reflect ownership.
Battle Passes, Radianite, and progression rewards are not freely transferable through the skin-gifting screen.

Skin gifting versus VP gifting

They are different flows. A skin gift sends a chosen eligible offer for acceptance. Patch 11.11 began a staggered rollout of VP Gifting on the PC VP purchase page, allowing the friend to choose what to buy. Availability can vary by platform and region, so use the official client screen.

To audit spending, use the VALORANT purchase-history guide and keep cash receipts, purchased VP, and cosmetic value separate.

Acceptance, rejection, and refunds

If the recipient declines or takes no action for 60 days, the spent VP is returned to the sender. Once accepted, the item enters the recipient's Collection and there is no guaranteed automatic undo for choosing the wrong person. Verify the Riot ID and offer before paying.

Why is the Gift button missing?

Common causes are Account Level below 15, an unfinished seven-day friendship period, different region or shard, an active restriction, the daily cap, recipient ownership, or an ineligible offer. Update and restart the client, then check region and friendship status.

Never give a third-party “gifting service” your password, MFA code, or session. The safe route is Riot's client. Review Riot ID, MFA, and account-region setup, or visit the VALORANT product category.
