How Long Is a VALORANT Season? Early Season Dates

VALORANT uses time-limited competitive periods so players can climb ranks and follow changing in-game content. The original guide describes the game’s early “season” structure. Riot has changed naming, schedules and progression across later updates, so the live client remains the source for current end dates.

How long did the early seasons last?

The first season started on June 2, 2020 and ended on August 4, 2020. The second began on August 4 and ended on October 13, 2020. These examples support the source’s “roughly two months” description, but they do not guarantee that every later season has the same length.

Events, rewards and transitions

The source connects seasons with missions, events, in-game rewards and special skins. It also describes rank evaluation at the end of the period and resets between seasons, followed by renewed competitive placement. Those details reflect the early model; current rank handling, reward eligibility and reset strength can differ.
