To enter The Range in VALORANT on PC, open the Practice menu and select The Range. Start the session from that screen and the game will load the dedicated practice area. You do not need to create a custom lobby, choose a competitive map or enable cheats.

Correct current route

  1. Launch VALORANT and sign in.
  2. Open the Practice menu from the client.
  3. Select The Range.
  4. Start the session and wait for the practice map to load.

Riot brought the newer Basic Training and The Range experience to PC in Patch 9.02. Basic Training is the guided tutorial; The Range is the open practice area. Existing players can access both from Practice.

What to practise first

  • Warm up with stationary targets before increasing speed or difficulty.
  • Test short bursts and recoil control with the weapons you actually buy in matches.
  • Repeat counter-strafe, stop-and-shoot and crosshair-placement routines.
  • Check an Agent’s abilities without risking a ranked round.

A short focused warm-up is more useful than firing randomly. Keep one measurable goal, such as clean first-shot accuracy, and stop when your movement and aim are consistent. For account-compatible credit, see the VALORANT Points page.
