VALORANT Weapon Pickup and Buy Keys: F, B, 1 and 2

VALORANT uses different controls for buying a gun, picking one up from the ground and equipping a weapon you already carry. The original source mixes these actions together, so the distinction matters.
Default weapon controls
- F: interact with and pick up an eligible weapon on the ground.
- B: open the Buy Menu during the Buy Phase.
- 1: equip your current primary weapon.
- 2: equip your current secondary weapon.
Pressing 1 or 2 does not normally collect a ground weapon; those keys select slots. When you use F to take a ground weapon while already carrying one in the same slot, the current weapon is dropped and replaced. Check what you are swapping before committing, especially if your existing rifle has value for the round.
Choose for the round
Weapon choice should consider credits, role, engagement distance, remaining ammunition and team economy. Low ammo does not automatically make a gun useless if a better replacement is unavailable, so read the situation instead of swapping blindly.
