How to Use Sprays in VALORANT
Equip and use cosmetic Sprays in VALORANT, learn the quick-spray keybind, Expressions Wheel, cooldowns and the difference from weapon spray control.

To use a cosmetic Spray in VALORANT, equip it in Collection and press your assigned Spray key during a match—commonly T on PC. Tap the key for the Spray in the top wheel slot, or hold it to open the Expressions Wheel and choose another equipped expression. Check Settings → Controls → Equipment if T does nothing because this keybind is customizable.
Equip a Spray
- Open Collection and enter the Sprays or Expressions customization screen.
- Select an owned Spray and assign it to a wheel slot.
- Enter a match, face a valid nearby surface and tap or hold your Spray key.
The wheel shows a cooldown timer. Some Sprays are restricted to pre-round or post-round use, so a correctly equipped item may still be unavailable during live combat. You can also change wheel sensitivity, disable the wheel or use separate bindings in the Equipment controls.
Spray cosmetic vs weapon spraying
These are different mechanics. A cosmetic Spray places art or an animation on a surface; it does not damage enemies, improve aim or reduce recoil. “Spraying” a rifle means holding fire and controlling the weapon's recoil pattern. Do not aim a cosmetic Spray at an opponent expecting a hit effect.
