How to Surrender in VALORANT: Key and Commands

There is no single instant-surrender key in VALORANT. You start a team vote from the in-game menu or by typing /ff, /forfeit, /concede or /surrender in chat.

Start and answer the vote

1. Wait until surrender voting becomes available from round 5.
2. Open the Escape menu and choose Surrender, or enter /ff.
3. Vote Yes with F5 or /yes.
4. Vote No with F6 or /no.

If the request is made outside the immediate buy-phase window, the vote can queue for the next round. Riot’s documented rules allow one surrender call per team in each half.

How many Yes votes are needed?

In Competitive, the documented threshold is unanimous approval from participating teammates. In Unrated, 80% is enough, and an AFK player who is not spawning is not counted as a participant. Rules can differ in special or rotating modes, so rely on the vote panel shown in that match.

Surrender is a match loss, not a penalty-free exit, and it can affect ranked progress. Do not confuse it with Remake, which is a separate early-match flow for an absent teammate. Discuss the vote briefly instead of spamming it. For account-compatible credit, see VALORANT Points.
