VALORANT Account-Sale Guide: Rules, Risks and Alternatives

Short answer: selling, buying or handing another person the login to a VALORANT account breaches Riot's Terms. This guide therefore does not provide listing, pricing or delivery instructions. It explains enforcement, recovery, financial and security risks so players can make a safer decision.

What is Riot's rule?

Riot prohibits sharing credentials, selling or transferring an account and allowing another person to access it. The player receives a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence; skins, VP and other Virtual Content have no official cash or resale value. A breach can lead to suspension or termination and loss of access to purchased content.

A private deal, signed note, marketplace rating or “full access” promise does not change Riot's ownership rules. Changing the email is not an official ownership transfer.

Why is delivery not permanent ownership?

The original creator may still hold the first email, account-creation region and date, and old payment receipts. Those details can matter during an ownership review. A buyer can lose access months later, while a seller may face consequences from activity on the handed-over account.

Red flags in account listings

• Requests for a Riot/email password, MFA or recovery code, session cookie or active browser session.
• A “Riot verification” link outside Riot's official authentication domain.
• Remote-access software or an executable download.
• Claims such as “ban-proof”, “never recoverable” or “guaranteed MMR”.
• Pressure to use crypto, gift cards or another irreversible payment.
• Requests for full card data or unrelated personal documents.

Buyer risk checklist

• Access: original-owner recovery remains possible.
• Enforcement: old boosting, cheating, toxicity or chargebacks can trigger action.
• Competitive: visible rank and hidden MMR may not match the buyer's skill.
• Money: marketplace protection is not a Riot-approved transfer or refund.
• Privacy: phishing can compromise email, payments and other accounts.

Seller risk checklist

• Receipts and identity details can expose personal data.
• The buyer's cheating, scams or chargebacks can get the account sanctioned.
• Reused passwords can cause a chain of compromises.
• Riot may review related accounts when investigating a Terms breach.

Safer official alternatives

Keep inactive credentials private and use Riot Support for account matters. A player wanting a fresh start can create their own Riot account. An alt is not automatically prohibited, but boosting, deranking, smurf abuse or ban evasion remains unacceptable.

Use official gifting for cosmetics, purchase history to verify transactions, the spending guide for totals and the refund guide for eligible skins.

If you already shared information

1. Change unique Riot and email passwords on official sites.
2. Enable MFA, end unknown sessions and inspect email forwarding.
3. Scan a device if you ran a suspicious file.
4. Report unauthorised access or purchases to Riot Support with receipts and timestamps.

Do spend, rank and skins equal a sale price?

No. Payments are a personal spending record; rank and K/D describe competitive performance; skins are licensed Virtual Content. Adding fixed cash coefficients to them is not an official Riot valuation method.

Bottom line

The right question is not how fast credentials can be delivered, but whether rule and recovery risk can ever be removed. It cannot through a third-party listing, so the safest route is a personal account and official Riot features.
