Short answer: NT means “Nice Try” in VALORANT. It is usually sent after a teammate loses a difficult clutch or round to recognise the attempt and protect team mental.
When is NT used?
- A teammate almost converts a disadvantaged clutch.
- A plant or defuse misses the timer.
- An execute or retake starts well but the final duel is lost.
- A player follows the plan and needs brief support after the mistake.

Yes. Spamming it after an obvious error, adding question marks, pairing it with an insult or using it to belittle an opponent can make a positive phrase passive-aggressive. If the intent is support, keep it short and move to the next plan: “nt, eco then hit B.”
